Hung-Rong Yen, M.D., Ph.D., is a physician-scientist, educator, and international leader in integrative medicine. He currently serves as Dean of the College of Chinese Medicine at China Medical University and Director of the Division of Integration of Chinese and Western Medicine at CMU Hospital, Taichung, Taiwan.
His work focuses on advancing the scientific validation and global application of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) through real-world evidence and integrative medicine. Prof. Yen combines big data, laboratory research, and clinical practice, conducting studies ranging from mechanistic immunology to clinical and real-world research. His work translates traditional concepts such as “扶正祛邪” and yin–yang balance into modern approaches including immunomodulation, precision medicine, and integrative clinical care. As an educator, he promotes the integration of classical TCM knowledge with modern science, digital technologies, and interdisciplinary training to support the next generation of physician-scientists in integrative medicine.
